From the Rueda region where Basa is produced, there comes a completely new wine from Compañía de Vinos: El Transistor. Having worked in the region developing Basa since 1996, we felt the need to go deeper and invest more energy there. This entailed making a sincere gesture to Rueda and giving back to it a tradition it had lost. To recover a sense of the region’s ancestral viticulture, months were spent searching for original vineyards. Eventually original bush vine were found. A subtle fermentation technique was used to ensure it was the region rather than the technique that was expressed through the traditional Spanish varietal, verdejo, which El Transistor is 100% constituted from. The result is a truly authentic wine of great complexity.
