LAS BEATAS (LABASTIDA)
This plot is comprised of 1.9 hectares, located in the most northwest part of the Rioja Alavesa, where the continental conglomerates of the Miocene are mixed with sandstone and with outcrops of marl from the last Tertiary period.
Ten levels of terraces face east, south and northwest, where older vineyards are combined with some younger ones, and eight, maybe nine local varieties are planted. Las Beatas is an exceptional site, capable of providing water to the vineyards on a regular basis, as only the "grand crus" can do.
Aged in foudre in a traditional cellar.
