"We dream of making the best Rioja wine from the 18th century".
In 1998, we returned to Rioja, more experienced and loaded with enthusiasm. We wanted to rediscover the taste of Rioja that, for us, could only come from the best sites, from those towns with a long tradition of viticulture.
We used our intuition in choosing our base, and over the years we acquired small parcels in the area to produce a wine that best expressed the characteristics of the town of Lanziego.
Today, Lanzaga covers 15 hectares, embracing a traditional, human-scale model reminiscent of the renowned Riojas of the 18th century.
We have bottled what we believe is the essence of the town, as the best way to understand the true value of Rioja. One of our greatest obsessions in Rioja was to find the best plots, the exceptional vineyards with the characteristics needed to produce great wine. Las Beatas, Tabuérniga, El Velado and La Estrada are the product of this obsession. For many years we have relentlessly worked the vineyards to bring out their true value. The resulting wines have proved that these plots are extraordinary.
