LG VALBUXÁN TINTO LEXÍTIMO
LG Valbuxán (lugar de Valbuxán, “the place of Valbuxán”) is an old “pazo”. The “pazos” or “casas de labor” in Valdeorras are estates located mainly in the mountains, where extensive pastures provided good income from livestock. These estates also used to have a cellar where grapes from the surrounding communities were pressed. A few years ago, we had come across the derelict pazo LG Valbuxán. After acquiring and completely renovating it, including its original cellar where wine has been made already 300 years ago, LG Valbuxán has become our wineryin Valdeorras. The pazo helped us to think about the wines we would make there and inspired us to revive its vocation of making a wine with grapes from the surrounding communities.
